Tsunami 2004 with the magnitude of 9.1 at Richter scale was the second greatest earthquake ever recorded in human history, death toll from this disaster was more than 230000 people; scale of the Tsunami was massive, it affected countries far and wide from India to Indonesia.

According to experts this natural disaster was occurred by an under water earthquake caused by the friction of Indian tectonic plates and another plate; according to latest research energy released by this great Tsunami was close to 1.1×1017 joules, 1502 times more than Hiroshima atom bomb.

One of the most destructive earthquakes of this decade, its magnitude was 7.6 at Richter scale, it left almost 80000 people dead in different parts of Pakistan,Azad Kashmir, occupied Kashmir and Afghanistan, approximately 8 million people were directly affected by this earthquake.

According to latest research this natural disaster was followed by more than 978 aftershocks till 27 October,2005; analysts say that this  catastrophe was caused by the collision of  Eurasian and Indian tectonic plates, figures tells us that 25 % of the  buildings near epicenter collapsed and more than 50 % were severely damaged.

On 26 December, 2003 a powerful earthquake of magnitude-6 struck Bam, south eastern city of Iran; according to an estimate this disaster left more than 26000 people dead, its epicenter was 6 miles southwest of the old Bam city.

According to the reports,damage done by the earthquake was huge, it left thousand people homeless and most of the residential houses were completely destroyed; this earthquake was caused by the motion of Arabian plate.
